Day 2: When renting may actually be better than buying
This one might sound weird coming from a real estate agent, but buying a house is not always the right move.
There are absolutely times when renting makes more sense.
If you are not sure how long you will be in an area, renting may be better.
If your job situation is changing, renting may be better.
If buying would stretch you so thin that one bad month could put you in a tough spot, renting may be better.
If you are still working on credit, savings, or getting your finances in order, renting may be better.
And honestly, sometimes people are just not ready for the responsibility that comes with owning a home — repairs, maintenance, taxes, insurance, and unexpected expenses.
My job is not just to convince everyone to buy a house.
My job is to help people make smart real estate decisions.
Sometimes that means buying now.
Sometimes that means making a plan to buy later.
Sometimes that means having an honest conversation that renting for another year might put you in a much better position long term.
